Home Solar Savings ("we," "us") operates homesolarsaving.com. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use and share it, and the rights available to you — including rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the CPRA ("CCPA").
Information we collect
- Information you provide: when you request installer matches we collect your name, email address, phone number (optional), ZIP code, whether you own or rent your home, and your approximate monthly electric bill.
- Information collected automatically: pages visited, approximate location (from IP address), device and browser type, and interactions with our pages, collected via Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity (which may use cookies and session replay).
How we use your information
- To match you with up to three vetted solar installers in your area and introduce you to them — this is the core service you request from us.
- To respond to your questions and send the information you asked for.
- To understand how visitors use the site and improve it.
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.
How we share your information
With installers you ask us to match you with. When you submit a match request, we share your contact and property details with up to three solar installers so they can contact you with quotes. We may receive a referral fee from these installers. Under the CCPA this sharing may be considered a "sale" of personal information — you can opt out at any time (see "Your California privacy rights").
With service providers that process data on our behalf: form processing (Formspree), analytics (Google Analytics 4, Microsoft Clarity), email routing (Cloudflare), and hosting (Cloudflare Pages, GitHub). These providers are bound to use your data only to provide their services.
We do not share your information with anyone else, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
Your California privacy rights
If you are a California resident, you have the right to:
- Know what personal information we have collected about you and request a copy.
- Delete personal information we have collected from you.
- Correct inaccurate personal information.
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information — for us, that means opting out of having your details passed to installers.
- Non-discrimination — we will never penalize you for exercising these rights.
To exercise any of these rights, email hello@homesolarsaving.com with the subject "Privacy request." We will verify your request and respond within 45 days. You may also authorize an agent to submit a request on your behalf.
Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information
Email hello@homesolarsaving.com with the subject "Do Not Sell My Info" and we will exclude your information from any installer referrals within 15 business days.
Communications consent
If you provide a phone number and submit a match request, you consent to be contacted by Home Solar Savings and your matched installers as described in the consent language displayed next to the submit button. You can revoke this consent at any time by replying STOP to texts, asking to be removed during a call, or emailing us.
Data retention & security
We retain match-request information for as long as needed to provide the service and meet legal obligations, then delete it. Data is transmitted over HTTPS and stored with the service providers listed above; no method of transmission is 100% secure.
Changes to this policy
We will post any changes on this page and update the date above. Material changes will be noted prominently.
